The Asia-Pacific is in the midst of a period of structural change. Competition among major powers is intensifying, supply chains and critical technologies have become matters of security policy, and developments far beyond the region now carry direct consequences for its stability.

APSA was established to study these dynamics without institutional compromise. We are independent and nonpartisan: our analysis is not directed by any government, political party, or commercial interest. Our research agenda is set by the questions that matter to those who work on the region, and our work is grounded in open-source methods and direct engagement with specialists.

We place particular weight on the perspectives of practitioners. Scholars, former officials, defense professionals, and industry specialists each hold a partial view of the region's dynamics. Our role is to bring those views into structured conversation, and to turn what we learn into clear, decision-relevant assessment.
